May I suggest LA’s Rock Alternative 98.7 for whatever award is awarded to playing relevant amazing music. They inspire more than the grammy’s. Listen up Los Angeles, there’s a new song. Better tune in. No matter where you go there they are. #epicradio
Whenever I hear so called “adults” talking about the youth being a lost generation, I snicker. Mostly I am smug, and I read a tumblr post or a tweet or see a picture, and I snicker. Why? Because it is not the youth that is lost. They aren’t ambivalent, they aren’t ignoring the obvious. They aren’t just buried in technology “ignoring” the “so called real world.” Like it or not they have gotten us to see “the real world” through obvious child like eyes. Wide eyed and weary, us so called “adults” dredge on. We complain about the obvious, money, marriage, others faults…blah blah blah. But the youth, they are lost, directionless, in-comprehensive of repercussions or what the hell is happening to this nation..
REALLY!! I MEAN REALLY!! Could it just be that those turning a blind eye to what’s really going on aren’t the youth. They are in the midst of a civil war in it’s most literal translation. They aren’t hiding behind technology or Vampire movies, or those goddamned headphones. They are deciphering the truth that isn’t so tenably obvious. Their truth is rising above what is not working in this “so called real world”. When people say they are frightened that these “children” will be running our nation, I say pardon my french, “WHO THE F#$K ARE YOU KIDDING!!” I am not the least bit scared that the youth of our generation get it. They get it more then we can ever comprehend. If you have read Shakespeare, or Nietzsche or for that matter pick or choose any literary figure that shaped history, than why is it so hard to see what’s “really going on”. These children that have been left unattended, have not only raised themselves, but they have raised the bar. They are brilliant. They are fearless, and they will rise to any occasion. So I hope that the next time you hear someone say “these kids (insert blame on technology 20 minute rant) look at how your “sharing/receiving” this information. Facebook, you tube, twitter, smartphone? Thank you youth. For blowing it up in our faces and waking us up. Carry on. Stand the course, Don’t stop till your energy wakes up the universe. I love it. Someday this generation will rule the population, and I can’t wait. We might learn something.
